Tough schedule ahead for the Toronto Maple Leafs// Must win vs the Oilers
The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently going through their worst slump of the year, having lost their last 4 games. They are holding on to the 8th, and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, by only one point over the Washington Capitals, who also have a game in hand. The timing could not be worst for a losing skid.
Tonight, they are facing the Edmonton Oilers, who are struggling, and currently rank 29th in the NHL. The Toronto Maple Leafs cannot let that one slip by. It is a must win for the Maple Leafs, especially with the upcoming schedule they are facing.
After their tilt in Edmonton, they will visit the Vancouver Canucks, currently second in the Western Conference. Then, they will comeback at the ACC to host the Devils, the Sharks, and the Capitals, who, like mentioned earlier, are 1 point behind the Leafs, for the final playoff spot in the East. The final game of that home stand will be against the surprising Florida Panthers, who are always tough to beat.
Afterwards, things won’t get easier, as the Leafs will visit the Hawks and the Habs, then host the Bruins, visit the Penguins, host the Flyers, and then visit the Capitals.
As you can see, the next 12 games of the Leafs won’t be easy at all, so they might as well end their losing streak tonight versus the Oilers.
