A Stuffed Animal or a Blanket
Stuffed animals are always comforting no matter how old the child is. You can leave a stuffed animal with your child and that will provide him with a little bit of reassurance after you leave. You can also leave a special blanket with him for security. A large number of children feel that blankets provide with them with comfort.
You will need to leave some extra clothing for your child at the child care center. You never know what may happen while your child is at the establishment. He may wet himself by mistake or he may fall down in the dirt or something. You should at least leave one set of clothing for him to change into if something like that occurs.
Snacks and Foods
Your baby will want to have snacks, food and drinks that he can eat throughout the course of the day while you are gone. You can pack him a lunch and bring something for him to nibble on, as well. some daycare centers actually serve the children lunch. You will want to bring something in just in case your center is one that does not offer that option Bring your child’s favorite foods and snacks so that he misses the comforts of home as little as possible.
A little Cell Phone
If your little one is old enough to carry a little kiddie cell phone, you can leave one with him so he can text or call you. Manufacturers do make little cell phones that you can set to only communicate with you. They will make your child feel safe while you are away. Alternatively, you could buy your child a walkie talkie if you don’t work that far away. Those could comfort your child, as well.
Before You Go
Before you separate from your child, you will want to have a conversation with him letting him know that you will be back for him and that you love him. He will appreciate the time you spend giving him a little bit of reassurance. Sometimes a little bit of reassurance is all it takes to make everything all better. Your child should now have a fantastic first day at the day care and the rest of the day should go well also. It may be worthwhile to visit Wee Watch Licensed Home Child Care for more information.
